29thSept_2009

Hi,

Just bought the ColorMunki, was able to Profile my apple Monitor Ok, but when I tried to create a profiler for my printer, it just woundn't work. Using Epson 2100 I printed an Epson Premium Semi Gloss A-4, but it only printed in Landscape, not printing all the colours 45 instead of 50. At least looking at the Tutorial it shows five rows of ten colours in the Portait oreintation. At this stage I have given up after 9 hours of trying. I tried contacting X-rite but to no avail. I hope someone can shed some light on what might be wrong.

Thank you.

I, for one, dread every time I need to callibrate. Takes forever, never sure if the color it delivers will work. Half the time have to pay for someone to print off my color prints for me. Very angry that they deliver a defective product. And yes, I've called -- multiple times.

Hey guys. Got my ColorMunki in December just before Christmas (2008) and it works great for me. Currently, the software is at version 1.05. I've used it to calibrate an Epson R800 for several different papers (ended up spot-on matched with my screen each time) and with a couple of papers for my new Pro 3800. I haven't tried it with my laser printer, but I rarely use that to print anything truly photographic anyway.

The ONLY problem I had scanning in the printer profile strips was when I used some old Kodak photo paper. I think the problems with that were multiple, but primarily the texture/coating of the paper made it very difficult to slide the Munki across the color strips in any uniform fashion. And it took a lot longer to dry (and the paper clearly has a dislike for pigment ink as it doesn't bond to the paper well) which caused it to scratch as I ran the munki across. It was frustrating, but in the end, the profile was still perfect. I will never use that paper, though and will give it to the next person I know who has a dye-ink photo printer.

Having profiled my Epson R300 in both easy & advanced modes, the prints I get are very dark. I am using S Rite's latest software colormunki 1.05. Is there anything I can do ?
